GUIDELINES FOR BOAT YARD USAGE
All sanding dust, paint chips, filings, water, etc. must be contained on the slab and cleaned up regularly throughout the day to avoid being cast by the wind. A clear zone exists between the perimeter fence and the work slabs. This area will be kept clear at all times except for power cords and possibly water hoses. The areas between the work slabs are also a clear zone and must be free of obstructions unless the Owner/Agent of the boat is present.
WATER USAGE
No bottom washing shall occur on the work slabs. Pressure washing and bottom washing must be performed in the containment area adjacent to the travelift pier. Water may be available at the workstations upon approval of the Port. The slab and sump must be cleaned by the user and inspected by the Port prior to water usage, and then only for topside washing. Absolutely no discolored water shall leave the slab.
CONTAINMENT
Additional containment, meeting the Port’s approval, is required for all sanding, grinding, or painting operations with the following exceptions:
- Hand sanding or scraping
- Hand painting or waxing
- Vacuum sanding
- Interior work
VEHICLES IN YARD
One vehicle per boat is allowed in the yard at one time. All vehicles must be removed from the yard at 4:15 p.m. each day. There will be no driving on the slabs.
CHILDREN AND PETS
Children under 12 are not permitted in the work yard. Pets must be leashed and snubbed within the boat, vehicle or slab area.
SANDBLASTING
The Port of Ilwaco boat yard is not permitted to allow sandblasting.
REFUSE
Garbage will be sorted and placed in the appropriate containers as provided by the boat yard personnel.
FAILURE TO COMPLY
The Port will take corrective action at the expense of the Owner/Agent should violations occur.
